WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHITE TRUFFLE OIL AND BLACK TRUFFLE OIL?

Our truffle products are derived from fresh truffles. For our oils, we use two different species of truffle which in turn result in a slightly different flavor profile between the two.

White Truffle Oil uses Tuber Magnatum Pico: The flavor is early with strong notes of garlic. (a natural characteristic of white truffles).
Black Truffle Oil uses Tuber Aestivum: The flavor is earthy and more subtle, there are no notes of garlic.

When deciding on which truffle oil to use, it is for the most part based on what flavor profile you prefer. You could also choose to use both seasonally- White Truffles are harvested in the winter months and these Black Truffles (tuber aestivum) are harvested in the Summer months.
